Weekend Away! What books are we packing?

Shannon and I (and the rest of our family) will be spending a weekend in a secluded cabin! Our family has been going to this same cabin, the same weekend of every year since we were little kids. We have a ton of fun memories there such as, playing hide and seek in the dark, exploring the woods, playing in the little creek no matter how cold it is, game nights, camp fires, and most importantly getting to be surrounded by family. The best part of the cabin is that there is no wifi, so we get to completely decompress from the hustle and bustle of life. With no internet, and at one time little to no phone service, we get to read! Check out what books we are packing along with us below!

Shannon's picks:

Deciding which books to pack for this weekend has been a struggle for me. It's been a struggle for two reasons; the first being that I usually pick my next book based on my mood after finishing the previous one and I don't know what mood I will be in when I finish a book at the cabin. The second, is that I typically play a lot of board games at the cabin which takes some of my reading time, so I'm unsure of how many books to pack without being overzealous. That being said I am picking three books to take along with me; however, I may not get to all of them.

1. Stardust by Neil Gaiman

  • I am hoping to convince my husband to drive to and from the cabin so that I can read this book aloud to both of us on the drive. Previously on a car trip I read The Giver by Lois Lowry aloud and we both enjoyed it.

2. Regretting You by Colleen Hoover

  • This book is on my March TBR list and it is one I will most likely fly through due to it being on of my favorite genres

3. Yakuza Moon: Memoirs of a Gangster's Daughter by Shoko Tendo

  • This last book my sister just gave me a week ago, when I was talking about wanting to read more non-fiction this year. Since she too will be at the cabin I wanted to bring this book so I can talk to her about it as I read.

Sarah's picks:

1. The Cabin by Natasha Preston

  • This book is not on my March TBR, but since we are spending the weekend in a secluded cabin I figured I can't let this opportunity slide.

2. I Will Always Write back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda

  • This book is on my TBR for March and is the only nonfiction that I am bringing along with me.

3. Lobizona by Romina Garber

  • This is an ARC I received from NetGalley, and I'm hoping to be able to fly through it with all of my spare time.

4. Fifty Fifty by James Patterson

  • My Grandfather keeps giving me James Patterson novels to read, and this weekend will be a great way to catch up on reading them!

5. Guilty Wives by James Patterson

  • Once again, I REALLY need to catch up!

I think bringing five books for one weekend is ambitious, but at least I will have a ton of choices!
