Sarah's 2020 reading goal progress:
My first reading goal for the year was to read eighty books. So far, I am at seventy three books, so I will absolutely hit my goal. I'm not going to change this goal, I am just going to see how many books I can read until the end of the year. This will by far be my best reading year yet.
My second goal was to read more James Patterson books. So far this year I have read fifteen books by James Patterson. I am not completely satisfied with this, and really need to amp up my reading for one of my favorite authors.
My third goal was to read more nonfiction. When we wrote our initial goals I had read five nonfiction books. Today as I am writing this, I have only read nine. I think that's a decent amount, but I want to reach a goal of twelve (one for every month).
My fourth, and final goal was to knock out my TBR. While I know this will never fully happen, I have donated all the books I've read to second hand bookstores so others can enjoy them. I also can now fit almost all of the books I haven't read on my bookshelf. Double layered of course. I really hope to continue clearing my bookshelf out as I finish more books!
Shannon's 2020 reading goal progress:
My first reading goal this year was to read 50 books. So far, I have read 42 books this year so I will definitely meet this goal in the upcoming months. I do plan to "up" this goal to at 52 books because I want to complete the one book a week challenge.
My second goal was that I would write book reviews for at least 75% of the books I read this year. Out of 42 books I've read so far, I have written reviews for 19 of them. This puts my percentage of review writing is 45%. This being said I need to make more of an effort to write reviews after I finish a book.
My third goal was to read more non-fiction books this year. I set the goal of reading at least 3 non-fiction books this year. So far I have read two non-fiction books: Columbine and Yakuza Moon: Memoirs of a Gangster's Daughter. I do have at least two other non-fiction books on my TBR shelf that I plan to get to before the year ends.
