Ten Books We Think Should Be Made Into Movies

1. Awake by Natasha Preston

Synopsis: Scarlett Garner doesn't remember anything before the age of four- but a car accident changes everything. She starts to remember pieces of her past that frighten her. A past her parents hid from her... and a secret that could get her killed

Thoughts: Natasha Preston writes fantastic thrillers and I think it would be awesome to see some of them really come to life on screen. This one in particular would be great to see due to secrets that are hidden from the beginning.

2. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

Synopsis: A man is faced with alternate realities. Would you change you life if you could?

Thoughts: This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is a twisty psychological thriller, and could really do well on the big screen.

3. The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory

Synopsis: A girl goes to a wedding with a man she just met and pretends to be his girlfriend.

Thoughts: Every one loves movies like 27 Dresses, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, and The Wedding Planner. The Wedding Date could be the next best chick flick.

4. Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer

Synopsis: A girl realizes she can speak with her favorite character in her favorite fairytale.

Thoughts: Picoult's book My Sister's Keeper was made into a movie, and was a pretty big hit. This book co-written with her daughter could be a really cute movie!

5. Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella

Synopsis: Lexi wakes up in the hospital in the year 2007 with amnesia. She thinks it's the year 2004. Her life is totally different then it was three years ago.

Thoughts: Kinsella's book Confessions of a Shopoholic was turned into a movie a couple years ago, and we would all love to see another romantic comedy based on a book from the queen of romantic comedies!

6. Furthermore by Tahera Mafi

Synopsis: In a world where color is currency and power, Alice finds herself completely devoid of color.

Thoughts: This would be a really cute movie for kids and preteens. It focusses on finding your own strength, but keeps it light with a colorful "Alice in Wonderland-esque" world.

7. See Me by Nicholas Sparks

Synopsis: Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. With his history of violence behind him he's trying to walk a straight line. Maria Sanchez is working hard to get her degree from Duke Law, yet has a traumatic history of her own. A chance encounter brings the two together and love unexpectedly takes hold.

Thoughts: Fortunately a lot of Spark's other books have been made into movies, so it's not so farfetched to hope this becomes a movie too!

8. Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris

Synopsis: A man's girlfriend disappeared 15 years ago. He didn't tell the full truth about that night. Now that he's moved on their are hints she may be back.

Thoughts: A couple years ago Gone Girl took the world by storm. This book to movie adaptation could be similar!

9. Legacy by Cayla Kluver

Synopsis: At seventeen Princess Alera of Hytanica faces one duty: to marry the man who will be king. But her father's choice of suitor fills her with despair. When a palace guard captures an intruder- a boy her age with steel-blue eyes, hailing from the kingdom's greatest enemy- Alera is alarmed and intrigued. But who would have guessed there meetings would unveil a dark legacy shadowing both their lands.

Thoughts: Who doesn't love a movie set in a far off land with a deep seated legacy behind it? Even as a 26 year old I still love princesses and kingdoms. This book would make a great "princess" movie for an older generation. And it's only the first in a series of three.

10. The Leaving by Tara Altebrando

Synopsis: Ten years ago six children were taken, now all but one are back. They have no memory about where they've been, and only have vague recollections of each other. Where is Max the sixth child? And where have they been the last ten years?

Thoughts: This is a twisty thriller for teens, and could make a great movie. Netflix please jump on this opportunity!

Honorable mention: Any book by Sarah Dessen would make a great movie, and lucky for us Netflix will be producing a couple movies based on her books. The first one to be filmed will be Along for the Ride (Sarah's favorite).
