Shannon's Review: 5/5 stars
When I first picked up this book I didn’t know what to expect or whether I would like it. After reading it though I can say I enjoyed it. I feel this story had a little bit of everything: adventure, sadness, danger, and love. I loved watching Bod grow up, and interact with all the unique and lovable characters who lived in the graveyard. Also, this book has some periodic black and white pictures, which I really enjoyed. After reading his story, I will definitely be checking out some more books by Neil Gaiman.
Sarah's Review:
Middle grades rarely get five stars from me. I think that's mainly because they are below my reading level, and I have a harder time identifying with them. However, Neil Gaiman knocked it out of the park with this one (as he always does). I loved the mystery about Jack. The members of the cemetery are so quirky and eccentric. The setting is obviously a graveyard, but it is homey and comfortable. I loved Bod, and getting to see him grow up throughout the book, and seeing him face different challenges was incredible. I just loved everything about this book.
